As a counsellor focusing in trauma-informed ADHD therapy, I firmly believe that holistic healing transcends the boundaries of the mind alone. It necessitates the comprehensive exploration and addressing of the interconnected dimensions of body, mind, spirit, heart, and soul. Within the human body resides the echoes of past experiences, encapsulated in muscle memory, housing trauma, whether consciously remembered or not. To facilitate this profound healing journey, I employ an Integrative approach, seamlessly blending various Somatic modalities with complementary theories. In the realm of relationships, the presence of ADHD can introduce unique challenges, affecting one or both partners. My expertise encompasses a wide spectrum of therapeutic areas, encompassing Individual, Family, and Couples Counseling, with a specialized focus on issues related to ADHD. Here are some common questions
Not at all. Everybody has times in their life where they need direction and assistance or help processing trauma or any challenging event in the past or present.
That’s Okay. This is a non-judgemental, safe and confidential environment. There is almost nothing that I haven’t heard, or I can’t talk about. I feel comfortable talking about anything. If I don’t know the answer, I will find it for you. Life experiences are a part of being human and human experiences are nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed to talk about. Sometimes we just need a little bit of help navigating them.
Counselling is individual and unique to each person and their situation. Some people will want fewer sessions, and some will want long-term ongoing sessions. Either way you’re not obligated to have any specific number of sessions.
That’s a great question. We will explore different options to see if it’s the technique or something else. If it’s a technique, we can always try something different you can relate to. The client always has say in the therapeutic treatment.
If you feel like I am not a good fit for you, that’s Okay. Therapy is for your benefit, I always want you to get the most benefit. If it doesn’t feel comfortable working with me or if it is out of my scope of practice, I will do all that I can to find someone that is a better fit for you.
